New Assignment: Viva Italia!
Viva Italia!
This months challenge comes at the suggestion of Karen MacDonald. We started getting a few suggestions from people, but she was the first. It sounds like a hard one to me. We'll try to get this artwork done by one month from today, which happens to be Christmas! So you get extra credit if you give your artwork away to someone as a gift.
Last month was awesome! I'm so proud of all of you. If you're still working, don't worry, we'll get it posted whenever you're done!
Keep up the good work!

Subject Two: Safari
Last month we encouraged people to paint with paints, and we all saw how that turned out. So for this subject, feel free to use whatever medium you want. Paint, draw, photograph, paper cut-out, sock puppet...work in something your comfortable with, or challenge yourself with something new! Carve a log with a chainsaw! Personally, I think I want to sculp something.
The subject for this month is "Safari" and we'll try to have it done November 9th.
Go art!
Thank You!
Thank you, everyone, for participating! It was great to see everyone's pictures, and to be motivated to do more art. I was really impressed by everyone's creativity. If you're still finishing something up and you want to share, send it in anytime! Don't worry, there's no failing grades or late fees or anything.
Anyway, I had a lot of fun. Let's do it again!

A Painting a Day?
I'd feel pretty good about painting one picture a month, so this person puts me to shame. She's been doing a painting every day for over a year now!

The Last Reminder
Here's the update email you all sent to your junk mail:
Hello artists!
How's everyone? Were you hoping we forgot about this? Of course not: you have no obligation, so you shouldn't feel pressured. But! This is the last week to finish up your sea monster painting. Jessica's Grandma finished hers, how's yours coming along? I know I've got a lot of work still to do. If you haven't even started, there's still plenty of time! If you really hate paints, or sea monsters, ignore the rules! How the heck would I enforce them, anyway?
Have fun, see you in a week!
It's time to do more art.
So, you know the deal, we're all motivating eachother to do more art. We thought the best way to share and organize this would be a blog, so here it is!
Here's the original email:
Here's the original email:
Hello everyone!
So, Jessica and Gram and I were talking about how we wanted to paint more. We decided that we were going to choose a subject for us all to paint, and give ourselves a timeframe to finish it, that way we could help motivate eachother. Anyway, no pressure, but we thought some of you might be interested in doing this, too! If it sounds like fun, then keep reading. Here's the deal:
The painting can be any size, any material, any style. You can do it digitally but we highly recommend getting your smock dirty instead. The deadline is one month from nowish, we'll say October 5th. We'll do our best to complete the painting just so we can have closure. At the end of it we can all share what we worked on with eachother. And if it's successful, we can do more!
All skill levels are welcome! There's no reason to feel embarassed or intimidated, it's all for fun and practice. So let's paint!
